I think there may be some issue with translation since you mentioned it, but here are a few things that can lead to it.

1. Document Format or Clarity

• If the uploaded document is blurry, scanned poorly, or cropped in a way that cuts off-key information (name, school name, dates), the automated system may reject it.
• Ensure all parts of the document — including your name, school name, and the date — are clearly visible in one frame without annotations or redactions.

2. Mismatch in Information

• Double-check that your GitHub username, billing name, and document name exactly match — including middle names, order, or abbreviations. Even small mismatches can cause issues.

3. Date Issues

• The document must clearly show that you're currently enrolled — not just accepted or previously enrolled. Sometimes documents without an explicit date from the current academic term get rejected.

4. Translation Format

• If you added an English translation, make sure it's formatted professionally — preferably side-by-side or with a header indicating it’s a translated version. Handwritten or informal translations might not be accepted.

5. File Type or Upload Errors

• Try uploading the document in a standard format like PDF or JPG, and ensure the file isn't too large or corrupted.

Hi @daghlar,

You have to fill in your billing information and your GitHub profile with your translated full name exactly as it appears on your academic transcript. The automated system is unable to correctly read languages that don't use the Latin alphabet.

Remember to log out and log back into GitHub before reapplying.

I’ve carefully reviewed all the mentioned requirements and I’m confident that my submission meets all of them:

• My full legal name and the full name of my university are clearly visible in the document.
• The document includes a current date showing I’m actively enrolled.
• Since the document is not in English, I provided a translated version alongside the original.
• I updated my GitHub profile and billing name to exactly match the document (no middle name or formatting differences).
• The document is clear, readable, and all necessary information appears in a single frame.

Despite this, my application continues to be automatically rejected. I understand that GitHub no longer offers individual manual reviews, but I would really appreciate it if a moderator or someone from the GitHub Education team could escalate this for an exception. I’m unable to proceed even though all requirements appear to be met.

I’m reaching out regarding my GitHub Student Developer Pack application, which has been automatically rejected multiple times despite meeting all the requirements.

I have attached clear, official documents from my university (Istanbul Nişantaşı University), both in Turkish and in English. Here’s what they include:

• My full name and surname (matching my GitHub profile exactly)
• The full name of the university
• Proof of active enrollment and current registration status
• My faculty (Engineering and Architecture) and department (Computer Engineering)
• The current academic year and semester (2024-2025 / Summer)
• My date of registration (August 2023)
• Official signature and stamp from the Student Affairs Office
• Both original and translated versions

Additionally:

• My GitHub profile name and billing information match exactly with the documents.
• The document is fully readable and captured in a single frame.
• No PDF uploads were used – only a clear image of the original document and student card.

Could someone please review this manually or advise me on what might be missing? From what I can tell, every listed requirement has been fulfilled.

Uploading PDF documents to GitHub Education Pack subscription

The button for uploading PDF documents during the GitHub Education Pack application has a minor bug, so try using different browsers. I use Brave, and it works fine. Make sure to fill in all the required information correctly, upload the necessary documents as PDF files, and you should be approved.
